KEREM OZERLER

Ozerler graduated from İzmir University of Economics, Department of Interior and Environmental Design and started his career in Istanbul. During his time in Istanbul, he worked in the design departments of world famous design offices such as Autoban and GeoMim. Between 2014 and 2015, Ozerler moved to Stuttgart, Germany and took part in the design team of the renowned design office IF Group. After his return to Istanbul, Ozerler founded Wangan in 2016 with his partners Kutay Yorulmaz and Mert Can Uzyıldırım to provide services in the fields of architecture, interior design, corporate identity, product and experience designs. Ozerler is Wangan's partner in charge of design.



 

KUTAY YORULMAZ

Yorulmaz graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Interior and Environmental Design and started his career in Istanbul. During his career, he worked in the project management departments of world-renowned design offices such as Yapi Plus and Autoban. Following his experience in the design offices where he worked, Yorulmaz who runs his own companies in the construction and furniture sectors, founded Wangan, a design office to serve in the fields of architecture, interior design, corporate identity, product and experience designs in 2016, together with his partners Kerem Özerler and Mert Can Uzyıldırım. Yorulmaz is Wangan's partner in charge of project, finance and law

Graduated from İzmir University of Economics, Department of Interior and Environmental Design, Uzyıldırım started his career in Istanbul. During his career, he worked in the application departments of worldrenowned design offices such as Yalın Tan, Jeyan Ülkü and Yoo. In 2016, together with his partners Kerem Özerler and Kutay Yorulmaz, he founded Wangan, a design office to serve in the fields of architecture, interior design, corporate identity, product and experience designs. Uzyıldırım is Wangan's partner in charge of manufacturing and implementation.

‘’Built in a single-storey building in the garden, the fireplace where natural sandblasted textured stone is used, serves as a separator while serving the dining area and lounge area in front of glass. The fireplace, which comes out of the large glass opening in the ceiling, together with the large openings facing the garden, ensures that both areas receive optimum daylight. We created a balanced space by combining the dominant clarity of white and black with the warm and pastel tones of marble and wood.’’

What does it mean to design for you?

For Wangan, design is a phenomenon that has to incorporate the concepts of being innovative, intelligent, courageous and timeless. When designing a space, product or experience, we care about using materials and details that have never been tried, produced or encouraged. In our opinion, the thing that makes a design unique and valuable is its ability to move its users, viewers and industry forward and force them to move. We can change existing perceptions and systems as long as we can leave permanent traces.

When you were designing this place, what inspired you?

When designing the space, the most important issue was to filter the daylight in the most accurate way and to reflect it in the optimum way. We created a balanced space by combining the dominant clarity of white and black with the warm and pastel tones of marble and wood.

How we should use Netha Dining Room within decoration? And what are the essential components of it?

In our opinion, Netha Dining Room is a product that balances its simple design with its strong details, so the space where the product itself is used must be simple but effective. When we look at the design and space of the product as a whole, Netha Dining Room will reveal itself correctly in modest spaces that are stimulated with natural coloured materials, vivid colours and decorative products.

What are the outstanding trends of 2019?

As Wangan, the most important trend that has not changed for us is timelessness. Seeing that our designs are up-to-date and remarkable after many years is the subject that we focus on when we are working on design.
